Take Flight 2020

About Take Flight 2020

Please help support this year’s Take Flight program in Colombia, Ecuador and Guatemala, March 30, 2020 through April 7, 2020.

Our goal is to raise $10,000 by April 5, 2020 to ensure that our students, regardless of economic level and/or ability to pay, are able to take part in this amazing experience.
The theme of the trip to Colombia will be educational inequity. Students will spend the week schools in Barranquilla and will complete a service project with students and community members of Colegio Buen Consejo. The group will also visit tourist destinations around Cartagena and Santa Marta.
Students traveling to Ecuador will be engaged in a science-based service learning component. The itinerary includes an academic exchange and service-learning project with local students, science experiments at zero degrees latitude, and possible visits to a glacier, cloud forest, volcanic lake, cacao plantation and butterfly garden; as well as an exploration of Quito, Ecuador's culturally-rich capital.

The theme of the trip to Guatemala will be educational inequity. Students will be spending a week in Antigua, Guatemala. Travelers will be partnered with two (2) different schools and will create and complete a service project with the school community. The group will also visit tourist sites in Antigua and Guatemala cities.
